{Mimi and Poppy}

it was such a great surprise to have my parents pop in for a visit on their way home from my brother's house. the girls were thrilled, and it was rather perfect timing. they got to see one of riley's soccer games and help out with all the last few days of school hoopla.

no matter how sad janey was after the last day of school...making a birthday cake with mimi made it all better.

what a beautiful day it was.
perfect for a little doggie tug-o-war

i think we need one of our own.:)
early birthday treats
dresses, books and finger paint.
money for her nook and a cool new running shirt

happy early birthday to our little june bugs

thanks for all the
cake making
 doggie walking
game playing
movie snuggling
bike fixing
and loving
come back soon.
and bring those doggies.

{Last Day of School :: 2013}

...daddy was at work...thanks for the photo mimi...
she just got her last drop-off kiss goodbye before her sissies are home for the summer.
every day for the last month she would ask me if today was their last day.
it's finally here baby.:)
i'm a park the car and walk across the street kind of mom.
i think they really like it actually.
the extra hugs and kisses and holding hands.
and it gives us that last little chance for sorries if the morning didn't go so well.:)
today is the last day i will walk these two in.
riley goes to junior high next year (!) and they won't be at the same school again till 6th and 8th.
something tells me walking them in might not be an option then.

sweet, sweet teachers

janey grows so very attached each year and saying goodbye is so hard on her sweet heart.
something tells me these two will be buds for a long time though.

our lunch boxes are put away and our backpacks are hanging on the hooks.
all of our many, many school treasures have been put away in our memory boxes and we are ready!

ready for more time together.
ready for fun and ready for summer!!

summer list coming soon....

{A Belated Mother's Day Gift to You}

my friend lisa shared this with me and i just love it.
i've watched it tons already.

it makes me smile every single time.
and put down something or turn off something and look my kiddos in the eye too.:)

my parents are here for a few days.
and tomorrow is our last real day of school.
i can't believe it.
we are all a little giddy over here.:)

have a happy day,

{thankful for}
frozen mocha recommendations from friends
kettle corn
my flat iron

{Our Last Monday}

today began our last week of the school year.
this means no more quiet mondays with just dave, aubrey and me.
the whole herd will be home next week!:)
panera for breakfast and grocery shopping will look and feel a bit different...

and lunch dates won't be as quiet and will require a lot more food!:)
today we did our normal thing.
got some things done.
ran back to school to bring someone their glasses.
washed the car.
folded the laundry.
jumped and played and watered the plants.

 and it was nice.
summer is upon us and it feels good.
I think?
have a happy day,
{thankful for}
a cool breeze
a perfectly toasted bagel
a yummy dinner
a clean car
summer is here

...i've been liking the sound of that for sometime...so i'm up and changing it and here we go...
she did it...book three-check!
so friday night was movie night.
and bonus...this dvd came with book four so we are set.
saturday morning was quiet and relaxed.
dave went to paint the lines on the soccer field and the rest of us had a leisurely breakfast/dance party.

i think you might have heard this song playing over and over and over from our opened sliding glass door.

our saturday game was a victory.
oh those girls needed that win.
and riley scored a goal.
bummed i at least didn't snap a picture after the fact, but it was a happy moment for all of us!

janey and I escaped for a quick date.
a frozen mocha and a cherry limeade from panera,
and these two books
consider my big girls fully informed on the subject.:)
how did we get there so fast!?!?

saturday evening was so beautiful.
the weather could not have been more perfect.
we hung with our buds.
ate ice cream
watched the kids
drank wine
and looked at each other at 7:45 and said, "well...I guess it's time we head in!"
those nights are the hardest to leave.
everyone is happy and having fun...but bed time calls.

sunday we had two games an hour and a half away.
aubrey still had a cough and i had a sore throat so we stayed home.
i hated not being there, but our beautiful saturday night turned into a 90 degree sunday.
one win and one loss.
already a better season then last year.:)

and after a long hot day, this guy managed to cut the grass.
with a little help.
hope your weekend was a wonderful one,
have a happy day,

::little weekly goals::
documents and pictures completely organized on the computer.
i even organized my "favorites" too.
do you do that? save things you see out in cyber world...like something from etsy, or a home decorating idea to your favorites?  mine were kind of all over the place so now they are in neat little folders and that makes me happy.
this week is our last week of school, (yippee!) so our plates are already pretty full, but i am going to try and print some more pictures, and start making a pile of baby gear/clothes to take to consignment.
help me with this one...it's gonna be tough:(

{Insta Friday :: week 19-20}

::happy friday friends::

we are chillin at home today. cleaning and playing.
it was a full week, but not nearly as full as the last one.

::here's a peek at our week(s)::
don't let your friends at panera ever give you a free frozen caramel.
especially when they drizzle chocolate sauce in it so it's kind of like a frozen caramel/mocha.
lunch time picnic hide-n-seek fun
I wanna kiss that sweet little cheek
need your hair done...ask riley
need a silly face...ask janey
books for riley, read alouds for jane (harry is her only big read these days),
dvd for me.

singing before bed
the most beautiful hot air balloon flew right over our backyard!
our neighbors were there too and everyone freaked!
there was tons of waving and shouting and "land here!"
hearing the sound they make is awesome.
i would love to go up in one.
end of the year band and chorus performance.
first chair and her bff.
they all did amazing.
i loved it all.
the way they pop their instruments up as the band director steps onto the podium....seeing all their toes tapping... that very second nature glance of their eyes up at him as they play....that ringing sound the last note makes...
can you tell i was a band nerd?:)
(but we were cool! no nerds in our bunch!)

riley was chosen by her music teacher to perform with a big ensemble
about an hour away last saturday.
it was made up of about 100 kids from all over our part of the state.
she was in the drumming group.
they worked all morning on a few singing, dancing and drumming numbers and then performed them for us.
she was so proud and did great knowing so few people.
i was so worried about leaving her there for those few hours to practice...but she had no worries at all! she makes new friends so easily!:)

 dave's version of pollo rosa maria from carrabbas.
one of the many delicious reasons i need the above mentioned dvd.:)
riley had a sleepover and came back whipped.
my first baby
asleep on my shoulder.
jumping at our neighbors.
their tramp is shaded so it's usually the summer go to spot.
and they have water balloons
and homemade iced mochas.

i heart target.
seriously might work there someday so i can be the first one to see all the new goodies.
the big summer section is almost complete in ours.
love those seasonal aisles.
i'm so weird!

salad with grilled chicken and naan bread.
love naan bread.

lunch time fun with a buddy this week.

she has a little cold/allergies and has been super clingy and whiny this week.
poor girl.

 would someone please do that girls hair!:)
what is wrong with her mama?
ha ha
a new battery operated bubble blower...
that is pretty amazingly awesome!
we have a weekend filled with soccer.
but hey...it's our last one before summer so who's complaining!
dave got that painting project done last weekend!
yeah baby!
i still need to add the cute little finishing touches.

hope your week was a happy one,
