{Indianapolis Children's Museum}

this was supposed to be my ten on ten post for may...but i never got to it.
what are the odds that two months in a row i'm on a field trip on the tenth of the month?

i went with janey's class to the indianapolis children's museum.
we had such a good time.
i had a sweet little group of girls with me and we had a blast exploring, learning, running around and just being silly.

it's a wonderful interactive museum with so much to see.
they were kind of all over the place so i didn't get as many pictures as i wanted.
couldn't slack on my chaperoning duties for a quick shot ya know!:)

another great trip.
i feel so lucky to have gone.

have a happy day,
cindy

{Wednesday}

the girls had an early out day today.
so even though aubrey and i still went to story time in the morning, we all went to the library again in the afternoon. i just can't stay away from those story times ya know...she only has so many left.:)

riley came home with a bag full of goodness.
janey...just one...the goblet of fire.
she is trying so hard to finish the series by Christmas.
she has this crazy idea that if she does we'll take them to the wizardly world of harry potter at universal studios in orlando.
who in the world gave her that idea?!:)

30 pages from the end of book three

i came home with a stack of enrichment idea books for the girls this summer.
i am on the hunt for good inspiration.
got any?
i'm looking to create that perfect balance of
family and friends
work and play
going places and staying home
creating and learning.
sounds good right?

i was so inspired by this post.
my best days are my unplugged ones.
aren't yours?
the ones without the computer and the phones and the internet.

i just realized i spelled rollie pollie wrong...hmmm...think Aubrey will notice?:)

but then i read this.
and i deeply believe in the importance of recording our memories
and i know the value of this blog.
i see it when the girls read it almost nightly and smile and laugh about things that just happened last year. i can't imagine what they will do 5 or 10 years from now.
putting our thoughts and memories down on paper or photo or video is so important...cause goodness knows i can barely remember the cute thing aubrey said this morning, let alone last month.:)

so i will continue with the never ending struggle of finding the balance between recording our life and living it.

have a happy day,
cindy

{Today}

today is a good day.
the weather went from a chilly 56 this morning to 90 this afternoon.
that's spring.
the sky is the most glorious shade of blue and that alone is making me smile.

after dropping the girls off, aubrey and i put  our jackets on and headed out for a walk.
we went around the "big block" noticing all the things that almost four year olds notice.
we talked about shadows, rollie pollie bugs and the fact that right now...our house was empty!
she was surprisingly fascinated with that realization and dwelled on it for several pushes of those pedals.

we came back to our street and it was so pretty out we kept going and did our "little block" too.
by the time we got home our jackets were history!

dave worked so hard outside this weekend.
i love our yard in the spring.
everything is so green and lush and the sprinklers still don't have to be on every day of the week!
i guess that's one reason to be grateful for those rainy days.

after a quick marathon floor cleaning we headed to story time at our little library and then off to see jane for lunch. we almost missed her.  when we got to school she was walking in line towards the cafeteria with her head continuing to flip backwards looking for us. luckily we are both tall and easy to spot in a crowded hallway!:)

dare i say if we were out of the shade it was actually hot at the park.
i think we are in for a loooooong summer!

after dropping janey off we had a little play date out back with our sweet new neighbors.
the girls played in the water table and slid and swung and jumped for about an hour and a half..
it makes me so happy that they have moved behind us.
the twin girls are a little younger then aubrey and their son is about a year old.
perfect backyard play mates.
i love this neighborhood and all our wonderful friends.

after school the big girls got their hair cut and she braided them into messy buns.
so sweet and perfect for a hot day.
we ended the evening with play time way past our normal outside time.
i tell ya...our minds are in summer already but the school calendar is just not cooperating with us.:)

hope your tuesday was terrific.
have a happy day,
cindy

not sure why i stopped these...but here we go again:)
