Time Has Flown

It seems like only yesterday we were here
excited about the first day of school

ready to meet our new teachers

ready to make new friends

ready for new adventures

and ready for so much more
and now...

we are here
at the end of second grade and kindergarten

looking a little older

a little wiser
{notice the flip-flops...I am a big "keep your feet protected" kind of mom...they begged me all year to wear flip-flops like their friends, we compromised...they got one day and one day only...the last day of school!}

and a little ready for some much needed fun and relaxation
at home

It was a wonderful day

filled with fun, games and friends

but there was some sadness too

You see...we had wonderful teachers this year
teachers that helped our little angels grow and nurtured them so dearly
we were so lucky!!

our end of the school year tradition includes a dinner out at a restaurant of their choice
so we ended up here (2nd year in a row!)

{see all the birds nests in the sign??}
We had a wonderful dinner
we  talked about our summer ahead, played endless games of I-Spy,
and enjoyed being together
We went out for ice-cream afterwards
and in the car ride home Janey said,
"You two are the best parents a girl could ever want!"
Wow...talk about making our day!

so...our summer begins tomorrow...
come back for our summer list, our first official "Craft Wednesday" and a surprise dinner...wow I feel tired already!:)
see ya then!

  1. What a sweet post! Oh my gosh, my "baby" son is graduating from highschool this week and I have been so nostalgic about when our 3 sons were little. Now they are 23,21 and 18. So this was just so swet to me tonight. Thank you so much for following my blog, I'm now following you to!
    Have a pretty night,

  2. What a great post Cindy! And you and I are in the same boat...our baby is almost 1...and I'm 42...and yes...STILL thinking of another baby. Will it ever go away! Thank you for your comments on my blog. (Hey..if John Travoltas wife can do it at 47 why can't we??) :) Go for it!

  3. That was great! I swear your girls look like twins. I kept trying to figure out if they were until I got to the 2nd grade and K part. I love that pic of them holding hands walking. So sweet!

Enjoy your summer. We still have 2 more weeks after this one.

  4. I can't believe the school year is over and Riley will be in 3rd grade and Janey in 1st. Not working I forgot about the count down...I didn't miss that count down!!

  5. What a great post Cindy! We always let our son pick a place to eat dinner out too on the last day of school. We still have 8 more days to go...ridiculous I think! I think I will do a first day of school and last day too, if you don't care if I "copy?"

  6. tomorrow is our last day of school. feeling a little nostalgic! great photos!
