{Halloween Weekend}

with Dave out of town
Halloween really snuck up on us.
the big day seemed to get all smooshed together into one big orange blur.

Saturday we carved our pumpkins.
what fun that was.
it brought back a flood of memories of carving my own pumpkins as a kid.
and the countless ones I did in my classrooms too.

for some reason the girls decided they wanted to "harvest" their own before carving.
goofy little cuties.

I know these pictures are so blurry
and the lighting is bad.
but I just couldn't help myself
the looks on their faces were so priceless.
where do they get such totally expressive expressions....
Dave says he knows...
ha ha must be a girl thing!!:)

love how different these look.
Janey's had bangs and hair and
Riley's had peace signs for eyes.

after countless "is it time yet??"
the big moment was finally here.
Scarecrow, Minnie and Pup-a-Dup
could finally suit up.

not a real lollipop...just a stick with some "crumbs" left on it
but boy did it make her happy.

Aubrey and I did a few houses
then headed home.
the girls were real troopers and
traveled quite a distance.
but I guess when candy is involved
one can do amazing feats!

Hope you all had a
Happy Halloween!
Enjoy the day,

  1. Great pics Cindy! Love the look on Riley's face...that's how I feel about the guts too!
Such a cute picture with your girls on the porch!

  2. such great pictures. looks like they certainly enjoyed their Halloween!

  3. Aw, love the pics! The kids look happy and so darn cute in their costumes! It was a blur wasn't it?

  4. Great pics Cindy! Even if you think the lighting is bad, etc etc, you captured that moment!! And that 's what counts.

I wish my girls enjoyed our pumpkin carving more. They were so not into it. I guess 4 and 2 yr olds have better things to do than carve pumpkins. :)

    Happy November to you:)

  5. Those pumkin guts cause a lot of good expressions! Looks like the girls had a great time. I love your pictures! Lighting is way over rated :)

  6. Looks like a fun time, with wonderful snapshots! :-) Love their costumes, so adorable!!
    Have a wonderful day!!!

  7. Those are precious photos. I loved seeing them all. Looks like you guys had a great holiday together. Love their costumes! ps. You have a beautiful yard too.

Hope you are having a good week. :)

  8. Love the costumes. The scarecrow is super cute and original!

My girls weren't much into TorT until they got older either. I kind of wish it was still that way as I look over the MOUNTAIN of candy they keep begging for.

  9. ps....I'm already loving the book, Simplicity Parenting. I took a sack of toys to Goodwill this morning. The book is really opening my eyes. I can't wait to talk to you more about it. Thanks again for the suggestion sweet friend! :)

  10. Love the pictures! You are so right, they are so expressive! Their pumpkins and costumes are adorable. Looks like a wonderful Halloween!
