{weekend glimpses...plus a bit}

...i have been trying to write this post since monday night...
goodness!:)

we had rain, rain and more rain this weekend.
those few peeks of sunshine we had were a welcomed sight.
all that gray can get to you after awhile.

we began the weekend with some sleeping in babies...games of solitaire and to-do list writing.
i am happy to report that lots of things got checked off this long weekend.
from hanging our new print to cleaning out the central vac. canister (yuck...thanks baby!)...not to mention all the normal to-dos like the yard and laundry and cleaning...!
it felt so good, even if you just think of 5 more things to take their place...darn it!

we are still trying desperately to wrap-up riley's room re-do.
we have almost all the details in place and we are just about ready to hang all her goodies.
poor thing...she's been waiting forever bless her heart.
on saturday riley and i hit hobby lobby for a few more inspirational finds.
some frames to paint and pics to order and we should be done!

saturday was pizza night and i took 60+ photos of the process.
a step by step homemade pizza post is coming soon.
real soon.
i promise.:)

this long weekend was really what we all needed.
especially since we didn't have any soccer.
we got a chance to do other things like decorate our american girl house

and write, produce and direct a play.
we have big jobs and lots of practicing to do.:)

the long weekend also gave daddy a chance to work his "rest time magic".
he put aubrey down for 5 days in a row and she played happily in her bed for well over a half hour each day. she picked a special friend from riley and janey's room to play with and daddy went to "take his nap" at the same time. so far i have been able to repeat the process today.
here's hoping i don't jinx myself  'cause so far i hear her happily playing wonder pets on the monitor...this is bliss!:)

the girls started their dance classes this week.
like our schedules needed another element to contend with.:)
things will be even nuttier till rec. soccer ends.
i sure do miss those carefree days of summer.

hope your weekend (plus a bit) was wonderful,
have a happy day,
cindy

  1. Love this post Cindy! I love the long weekends and even crossing thinks off those pesky to do lists...it's funny about your vac canister being cleaned. We did a yucky job too, cleaning the furnace filters! Ugh...!

I can't wait for the pizza post! That picture looks amazing! Hurry, please. Because of course you don't have enough to do!

I have my fingers crossed for continued success with your quiet time routine! I am with you there. Have a great day Cindy!

  2. I love your family wall! I really want to do something like this in our hall. I just need to get my husband to fix my printer!

Sounds like a wonderful weekend! I am looking forward to your pizza post. You always have the best looking meals.

  3. Hi Cindy,

My girls would have a blast with yours.. I knew it when I saw the picture on Janey's door! Too bad we're states away!!! Yahoo for getting Aubrey to "rest" for a while in her bed. I know it's not the real break in the day you need like when she was sleeping... but maybe it helps a little? Does she go to sleep earlier at night? That's always a bonus of dropping the nap!

Your weekend looks perfect. It's always good to get some things done and give your kids a chance to get creative with their imaginations.

I adore your family picture wall... such happy colors! And I can't wait to see Riely's room re-do... take lots of pictures! It's hard getting those projects done. One baby step at a time.

Oh dance classes sound like fun. Abigail starts 'irish step' next week. I'm still wondering if I made the right choice.

Anyway, looking forward to your pizza post. Every Friday Scott makes our pizzas and I make the pizza dough during the day. But your pizzas make me hungry just looking at the pictures. So please do a step by step for us?

Have a happy Thursday cuz I know you're prob already asleep. Don't you get up at like 5am or something? :)

We enjoyed our 4 days weekend too...we also had rain. It's amazing what you can get done when you're home for a long stretch of time!
    Have a great day Cindy!

  6. I'm excited to see that pizza post! Can't wait for that. :)

A little rain would be so nice. It's been way over 100 each day this week, although we are expecting a cool front for this weekend. I'm ready!

You are so good at decorating. Looking forward to seeing the finished product of Riley's room. It looks cute so far.

    xo
