{Florida Vaca...and the ER}

i'm back!
been back for awhile actually...but we'll get to that.:)

the hardest part about visiting "my girls" is leaving these ones behind.
and daddy too of course...the man who holds down the fort and makes it all possible.

janey super teary and aubrey trying to make "i love you " in sign language

driving out of the driveway that morning was not my favorite part of the weekend that's for sure.

but all it really takes is about 2.3 seconds at the table with my pals and i am good!
visiting one of our favorite restaurants and ordering a drink and my favorite "where have you been all year" salad helps too.

and then after about 4.3 seconds the fun begins...great conversation, easy laughter and absolute perfect memory making moments.

the rest of the weekend we did what we usually do, we
spa'ed,
shopped,
talked,
laughed,
ate,
chilled,
went for bagel runs,
laughed till we cried,
solved the worlds problems,
(and a few of our own,)
made incredibly silly inside jokes,
and had the "best time ever"!!!:)

oh how i miss you guys already!
can't wait till next year!!!:)

i was greeted that evening by the three happiest little girls and hubby a girl could ask for.
as you could see from the previous post, they really didn't miss me all that much!:)

now, our story gets a little...weird...freaky...whatever!
the next morning i wake up and my stomach feels a little bit off.
i just attribute it to a week of eating out, delayed flights and airport food.
but as our busy day of trips to the library, target, laundry, cleaning and junior high registration progress, things just keep getting worse. finally at about 3 i just have to lay down.
and that is sooooo not like me.

well, to make a long agonizing story short, we end up in the emergency room and i end up on the operating table at about 2 in the morning.
emergency appendedctomy!
yep!
the craziness of it all still blows my mind.
thank God i made it home and things didn't go south in fl or worse yet, the airport i was stuck in most of monday!

after some loving care from the best hubby and little nurse maids ever (and wise words and well wishes from friends and family!!!:)) i am finally feeling better!!
not ready to hit the treadmill again quite yet, but at least able to do my share of the work around here. and that to me feels like heaven!

it was so tough on this mama's heart to be gone on my trip and then to come home and to still be "gone". i wanted so much to have aubrey crawl into my lap for stories and dance in the kitchen with the big girls. and with school looming ahead of us that made my time out of circulation even harder....it was certainly not what i envisioned for my final week home with the girls.

but life is like that sometimes isn't it? and ya just gotta roll with it! as miserable as i felt sometimes, i just kept trying to remind myself this is nothing. i mean it was something, but really nothing!!! there are mama's everywhere getting waaaay worse news then this, with recoveries that last waaaaay longer. if they're lucky.

so here i sit, feeling better, and grateful, and happy and ready to embrace our few final days we have at home together before my 6th grader, 4th grader and preschooler scurrying off to school!!!

aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!

have a happy day,
cindy

  1. What the heck, Cindy! I knew it! I was washing dishes last night, and all of a sudden I thought, " wonder where Cindy has been...hope she is alright..."" See we have some kind of blogger connection. ; )

Sorry about all that, dear friend. But so glad you are alright and your perspective is spot on.

On the flip side, your friend time looked wonderful! But I was just thinking...maybe the excitement of Florida is just too much for you...perhaps some laid back-do nothing- sit on the porch time in Pa would be better and safer for you next year! ; )

    Enjoy those babies, dear friend!

  2. Wow, Cindy, that's a crazy story! That must have been scary. I'm glad you're ok!

It looks like you had a really good time with your friends though, which is good :). I love all the pictures, and the last one with all three girls is really cute. It's the ultimate "yay, it's summer!"-picture :).

    Take care!

  4. Wow, Cindy...what a scary thing to have gone through....so glad you are on the mend. And like you said, thank God you weren't stuck in the airport or in another state when this happened or right before your trip and you didn't get to go. Whew. Your girlfriend trip always sounds delightful...I think it's awesome you make special time to do this.

  5. Okay, can I start with something so trivial? Riley's hair in that last pool picture is rockin awesome! Love that fresh new 6th grader look Riley! :)

And Cindy, you poor thing... your positive attitude is amazing and making your recovery that much faster. You're right, there are way worse things that Moms are dealing with health wise but what you went through IS a BIG deal and sure hope you take it easy until you get the 'green light' from your doctor. Clean floors, a tidy house, and perfect counters can wait. Just take care of you and your three girls until you're all the way better! No super crazy projects, k?

So sorry to hear that you had to go through that. Here's to a happy, HEALTHY new school year. Praying for you, tara

  6. I can't believe how long your girls' legs are! They're growing up.

So glad you're okay. And Evie started preschool two weeks ago. I'm finding it not as hard as I thought. I hope the same for you.

  7. I hope that you are resting up and feeling much better. You are right though, what a blessing that it didn't happen while on vacation. Still, so scary. Big hugs to you! xo
