{Twelve Years}

Dave and I celebrated our anniversary on Sunday.
Twelve Years!
We both kind of look at each other like....what?!?!?
Twelve years...really???!!!
Where did the time go?

During the hustle and bustle of getting ready for church in the morning
Dave took my wedding ring off the kitchen shelf
took my hands in his and said his vows again
word for word
while he placed the ring on my finger
the boy's still got it!!!!:)
The girls, who were sitting there having breakfast, were like eeeewwwwww...
kind of funny!!

Dave made a truly scrumptious dinner.

And brought me some beautiful flowers.

We wanted to take a photo of us on the big day
Of course we waited till right before bed-time
We were too lazy to get the tripod out so we let the girls take turns with the camera
They thought that was totally cool!

I think we have made pretty good use of our twelve years together...

I've included the funny outtakes for your viewing enjoyment

Here are some photos from the real big day.

We got married at the Marriott Key Largo Bay Resort
It was a beautiful location and a picture perfect day.
I took photos of the photos in our wedding album.
That would explain the weird flashy thing in the corner and the little gold edges!:)

I love this one because the sun started shining so brightly as soon as we said "I Do"
and headed down the aisle
same view from above
this is the one we have hanging poster size in our bedroom
this is one of my all time favorite ones too
isn't it just gorgeous?

same bridge
our friends and family
the bubbles
just loved it

wish you could see this part in our video
they filmed us in slow motion walking across this bridge
and the song The Way You Look Tonight was playing
we went  the whole way across the bridge, down the sidewalk and
then into the glass elevator
then we gave each other a huge hug and kiss....we had no idea we were being filmed!
the girls love that part of the video!

The girls were so cute, they threw us a party after Aubrey was in bed.
We went on a scavenger hunt and our prize was tickets for a spa.
We got to sit on the sofa together and they rubbed our feet and hands!
Where do they come up with this stuff??:)
We loved it!
We asked them if they could just put themselves to bed so we could stay right there
on the sofa together in our post spa state
they wouldn't go for it though!:)

A beautiful day
A beautiful life
I love you so much honey
Happy Anniversary!

{This Week}

Whew...hardly time to breathe...let alone post!
I guess I shouldn't really say that...there has been lots of time to breathe...and that's a good thing.

The girls have returned to school
Dave has gone back to work and
life is returning some what back to normal.

I love having them all home
really I do,
but routines and schedules
we're pretty good friends
we go way back I guess.:)
{can you hear the slurping sound effects?}

Aubrey and I had a pretty low key week
lots of time at home
lots of time for play
lots of time for snuggling
sounds perfect huh?
It pretty much was.

This morning the girls got ready for school a bit on the early side.
Must have been all that sleep from the night before.
They were in bed at 7:30...they both needed it.
First week back wore them out I guess.

They decided to take advantage of their extra time with a little Friday Morning Dance Party.
We were dancing to this catchy number from the Tangled soundtrack.
Seen the movie yet?
LOVED IT!!!

{someone wanted nothing to do with sitting still for a group shot}

It was so sweet...the girls had an argument earlier and as they were getting ready to leave I heard Janey say,
"Look Riley it's snowing....when we were arguing before it was raining...God must be happier now that we   worked it out 'cause he made it snow for us!!"
Love that little girl.

Aubrey and I took a quick trip to the mall today
for no reason what so ever other then to get out of the house.
It was fun.
We saw the puppies,
avoided the play area and
had a pretzel.
I let her our of the stroller as we were about to leave.
She thought she was pretty much big stuff walking around carrying her bag of animal crackers.
I got her to let me pick her up again
by making strange faces with my head thrown back and my tongue out...
I told her we were heading outside in the snow
We could catch snowflakes on our tongues
She loved that....and let me pick her up again without any protests.:)
Funny thing was, as I was walking towards the door doing that a women with a toddler heading in said "heading out to catch snowflakes"?  I guess she had used that trick once before too.

this little sweetie loves yogurt

we freeze those tubes and then break them in half for her
The last few days after lunch, Aubrey has been going to the bread cabinet, pulling out the package and asking for a piece of bread.  Too funny! Doesn't matter if I give her bread at lunch..she still does it.  Believe me, I've tried.

she usually takes her bread to the family room and runs around in circles with it.

little goof ball

she also thinks it's funny to blow spit bubbles

I wonder what charming big sister thought that was a necessary life skill to learn!:)

but could she be any cuter?

So there you have it folks.
A sneak peek into our week
peaceful
fun
and never boring!

Hope your Friday is everything you dream it to be!
Enjoy the day,
Cindy

{Merry Christmas}

 all is calm...
all is bright...
till three little angels wake-up!

The first one on the scene was little Miss Aubrey
she was a bit mesmerized by Santa's rocking horse
but not ready to jump on
quite yet

Next one to wake-up was little Miss Riley
she said she had done a bit of sneak peeking at 6:30 while I was in the shower
she had already spotted her surprise gift from us
a new reading chair for her room.

Leave it to sweet Janey to sleep in a bit
not sure if she will ever make it down first on Christmas morning...
she has some pretty stiff early rising competition!

{not quite sure how to set my camera to capture these fast moving sweeties in low-light conditions....tried to just capture the moments...blurs and all...}

reading letters from Santa

It's our tradition to try and open stockings first
then have a Monkey Bread breakfast
before continuing with presents.

this year Santa filled our stockings with Smencils, Squinkies, baby bottles and fake earrings
I think the earrings were the biggest hit

we made a half sized version...less baking time and gone in one sitting!
but still oh so yummy

let the squeals of delight begin....

whew...that was fun

and we have a tired baby to prove it
I hardly ever get to hold my sleeping littlest anymore
so I wasn't passing up this Christmas cat-nap opportunity

Dave made the most wonderfully scrumptious Christmas dinner
twice smoked spiral cut ham
homemade applesauce
homemade cornbread with jalapeno glaze
potato casserole
collard greens
and pumpkin cheesecake with gingersnap cookie crust for dessert

my simple photographic abilities do not begin to do this food justice
it was all soooooo good!
love you honey!

Thanks Ma and Poppy Joe for sharing our Christmas with us
We love you!
