Art seems to be such a big part of our life.
The girls love to create and having a space to do it (the basement art area)
and lots of materials to spark their creativity is one of my greatest
accomplishments as a mom.
I love the peace creating brings to our home.
The feelings of pride they have in their work
and seeing how much they (and their interests) have grown and changed
by the art they create.
Most of these were done at the kitchen table or the island (not the above mentioned art area)
usually in the middle of meals being prepared or during after school snack
Here are just a recent few...
Riley made this picture of her and Janey fishing from a bridge.
I love the rainbow colored net with the drips of water
the bridge and the fancy lights
the microphone on Riley's shirt because she loves to sing
the fact that they are fishing together!
hard to make out all the great details, but this is a sketch Riley
made of our house
She did an amazing job!
love the mantle and roaring fire
looks like a fun day at the park to me
we are all there...even our old dog Cody :(
loving that HUGE bubble gum machine
it is all about learning to blow bubbles about now!
this is Riley's super hero
"Super Sport"
whenever there is trouble on the field her beeper goes off and
she flies to the rescue
this is Janey's super hero
"Jillian the Hospital Person"
she takes care of any problems sick people may have
(Janey is very into Dr kits, and making pretend casts out of paper towels and tape.
She is even saving her money for the American Girl wheelchair!)
Behind Jillian you will find rows of shelves and drawers filled with her supplies.
Have a wonderful day ...and go out and create something!
Cindy....this new blog looks so great. It is fun to see all the great things your family is doing.
ReplyDeleteI love art projects too! They do bring a welcome peace into the home.

ReplyDeleteThey are soooooo talented! :o) My favorite is definitely the giant gum ball machine one even thought they are all spectacular. Future children's books artists, perhaps? Love it!
