{Today}

my morning started with some lovely janey snuggles
my middlest is a lover
a cozy-upper who cherishes more then anything the gift of your time
i'm pretty good at giving that to her
most days

last night she was wanting some extra bedtime snuggles and honestly
all i was really thinking about was getting to the sofa with my mug of mint chocolate chip ice-cream and dvr'ed parenthood
(truth be told i am a much better morning and daytime mommy then nighttime mommy...anyone else?)
so i promised i would wake her up early for a special snuggly story time in bed

 bad light...but captured moment

it was so warm and cozy
we snuggled up together and read
she loved it
and it made for a very happy start to our morning

dress up is happening more often around here
we go from pretty, pretty princess

to mighty, mighty pirate pretty quickly

argh

aubrey and i took a drive today
even if we don't go anywhere special...ya know...like target or the mall :)
i like to get out of the house at least once a day
it does wonders for my spirits
we got a coke and an ice-cream cone at mcdonalds
(ya know they will make them itty-bitty size if you tell them it's for a 2 year old)

then we drove through the park and went over the bumpy bridge
if i don't drive fast enough aubrey yells "higher, higher"
i guess she is referring to the bounce....
so we turned around and did it again
twice
then she says...through the giggles..."there ya go...that was higher"
the little old men fishing probably thought we were nuts!:)

we spent the rest of our pre-lunch playtime in the basement

making pies and feeding babies

and we had some fun with the camera too

aubrey thought this was hysterical
at least i got her to look somewhat straight ahead and smile!:)

after school forts
equal happy sisters

little miss riley

oh how i love this grown up fourth grader
this year has brought a shift in her sense of humour...
i love it
this girl is funny...and she thinks i'm funny too so that's a bonus

now i am sitting here in the house completely alone...
that hardly ever happens
the girls had dentist appointments and dave took them
all three of them
hello wonderful husband
hello hour or more of silence
ahhhh...this feels good

tonight i am helping at riley's girl scout meeting
i am looking forward to the time with her and her friends

so how was your day?
any bouncy bridges or plastic peas involved?

however you spent it...i hope it was lovely

have a happy day,
cindy

  1. This sounds like a lot of my days, and a lot of my thoughts! :)) I am also a much better morning mommy, than night time mommy. I'm usually "done" by 7 pm. :) We tried to stay home one day this week, and Boyd and I went nuts.....so we hopped in the car at 4:30 pm just to drive. I can totally relate that needing to get out at least once a day.

I'm glad you are having some silence today. That is so great that Dave took the girls for their dentist appointments. I love the pictures. They are all so sweet, such pretty, smiley girls....and mama!

    Have a good night.

  2. I loved your post, yes my day had plastic food too! I love the pirate picture the best! She's really into dress up, so cute! I love it when Scott takes both girls somewhere for a bit, the quiet house is nice (for a short time)... I'm like you too, a better morning and day mommy... my girls know, no crazy nights, I just can't do it. I'm done at 8... enjoy your night, tara

  3. Hi Cindy!
Fantastic pictures. Your pics are looking so good.
What a nice hubby takin' all three girls to give you a moment or two of silence. That really is the best. And boy do we need it some days huh?!!
How sweet to squeeze in special morning snuggles with your middlest. I agree with Nicolle too, I am a better morning mommy i think too. (after coffee of course!)
    enjoy your day Cindy!

  4. Oh yeah, I get that night time mom thing too. We don't have a very long bedtime routine. . .teeth, prayers and hugs. . .that's it, because I am soooo done by 7ish!
Glad to hear I'm not the only one!

  5. Sounds like we're all better morning mommy's!

Your pictures are really great Cindy. Aubrey makes a pretty cute pirate! I think Eric and Brady get those swords every year for Christmas!

Glad you enjoyed some alone time this evening because of a super thoughtful husband!

  6. Silence is golden. Your husband took all 3 of the girls? To the dentist? My husband wouldn't even know who our kids dentist was if it wasn't his cousin.

And I'm just wondering why you guys have a pirate costume? Because I can guarantee you we do not have any princess costumes in this house. I was totally laughing at that.

    Good day.

  8. Love that pic of the two of you all doused in pink light. What a special moment.

And the one of Aubrey sorting the food on the carpet is gorgeous.

    Looks like a beautiful day!

  9. Love Aubrey's dress up pictures.
I wish someone would read to me early in the morning!
We created our wonderful day by walking on the AT on a frosty cold morning with some pretty awesome 360 views from a bald. We weren't the only ones that had the same idea. One thing that was surprising...we walked through some snow and even made a tiny snowman. Glad your day was snuggly and bouncy!! :-)
