{hi}

happy thursday to you.
how are things?
it is 86 today and i am wearing shorts for the first time in what seems like years.
goodness gracious my legs are pasty white!!!

this is the second day aubrey and i have stayed put after drop-off.
yesterday we saw janey for lunch but that was it.
i am trying to put out all the little fires this time of year can bring.
mother's day gifts
teacher gifts
signing up for summer activities
school parties
planning vacations
scheduling summer check-ups
dance recitals
soccer tournaments
etc...

of course all these little things are sandwiched in between all the other little things we do all day.
eat
paint
play
puzzles
eat
etc

sometimes trying to do "other things" during the day can make me feel so scattered.
starting and stopping
constantly changing gears
feeling like nothing is getting my full attention
i wonder if it's worth it after all?
i should probably just wait till nap time huh??

oh the day this sweetie gives up nap time (knock knock on something wooden) we are in for it:)
i am hoping she will take after janey.
she was in her crib till almost 4 and would play and sing in there for an hour or more every day.
one can dream right??

we have a busy weekend ahead of us.
soccer games friday, saturday and sunday.
whew.
makes me tired just thinking about it all.:)
but i have a feeling we will squeeze at least a little fun in there somewhere.
and probably a chichen-itza pizza picnic too.

have a happy day,
cindy

  3. I know JUST what you mean Cindy. When Abigail doesn't have preschool and we're home for the day I try to squeeze in all kinds of odds and ends and my brain feels so scattered too! Sometimes I just make my list and then wait until she's asleep. It's hard to fit it all in. Phew! Your school year must be winding down? I'm not even close to thinking about teacher gifts and summer vacations. We go til June 20th her in CT! When are you out?

Enjoy your busy family life. One day we'll miss those too many soccer game weekends...

FYI ~ had to go back to some teacher meetings to get my CEU's (points to not loose my teacher certificate) and hated them! Just being in the meetings (2 meetings that were 2 hours) I felt like I was in the wrong place and it felt so good that I knew I was not to return to teaching for a LONG time. I ached for my girls and it was just two meetings. Life at home is busy. Life at home is good, isn't it?

  4. I know what you mean about constantly switching gears and not ever finishing something.
Glad you were able to enjoy shorts and warm sunshine though!

  5. She's just got the most amazingly scrumptious cheeks!

And I always feel exhausted before a weekend too. Never thought as a teen I'd live for quiet rejuvenating Mondays :)

  6. I love Aubrey. She is adorable and you capture the sweetest faces on her. You know I was a nervous wreck about Boyd giving up naps. He was 3 1/2. I guess I got my good out of it. It turned out ok once he stopped, but you sure couldn't have told me that in the past. :))
