{Reminiscing}

on Sunday Riley and I went on a date to Target.  

it was a quick trip.

pop in and pop out.

but these days I take any opportunity I can to get one of the big girls alone.

and we all know that some of our best conversations 

happen in the car right?

we started reminiscing about our vacation out West. 

we went in 2008 and it was THE best family vacation EVER!

we flew to Utah and then drove to The Grand Tetons and spent 5 days camping

all of us dream of going back there...someday

{forget it... I dream of LIVING there...someday}

this morning I looked back through the photos from that trip 

oh my goodness they look so little

here are just a few of my favorites

{Weekend Glimpses}

it was a wonderful weekend
a lot of time spent together

smiling
working
playing
laughing
exploring

the girls were off on Friday
and they are off today too
long weekends are the best

making the mundane fun

this car has seen a lot of fun...my mom paid $10 for it at a garage sale for  my niece

who is now 15!!:)

Good for the Soul

well...yesterday was a wonderful wednesday indeed
i decided to abandon the computer
get outside
look for the good
and be grateful

Aubrey and i surprised Riley
and signed her out for lunch (Janey was on a field trip)
we headed to a park for a picnic

the weather was perfect and so was the company

i think Aubrey loved the fact that she could run around 

and play with sticks during lunch

Riley got her exercise chasing after that little peanut

but she never complained

{we tried getting Aubrey in the picture...let's just say...impossible!}

after dropping the girls off at school yesterday morning

i noticed something on the back window

Riley had written, in all the dust,

"A cool Mom drives this car!"

now that's pretty awesome I think

last night Janey came downstairs 

and put these medals around my neck

she said they were for "great parenting"...

i guess i got my medal after all
