{Weekending :: Soccer}

soccer is officially under way!
we had two games this sunday. and even though they have  been practicing together for months, it finally felt real this weekend. they played well and came out with a close loss and a tie. not bad for facing some tough opponents. love to see those girls play as a team.

can't take credit for the cool pic...riley's team mate took it...

janey and i had some fun solo time together.
we got to be a part of this milestone...

i guess there is more then one "ol girl' at our house still kickin!!:)

of course janey wanted to take a double selfie to remember the moment.

i remember something else about that moment.
we actually drove around and around our little near by park cause our mileage was close and i didn't want to miss my pic...and as we drove janey talked on and on about real beauty. she talked about what it really means and in her own words went on to describe the difference between someone who may seem to have it all...cool clothes and shoes, but isn't very nice and kind, compared to someone who may not wear all the right things, but is still sweet and loving! ummm...did that just happen? there was so much more to what she said...i way over simplified here, i wish i could have recorded it all to play back someday :) sometimes our little ones can really amaze us can't they?

we have been doing some awesome eating around here lately.

something very much like this had been my breakfast for the past three weeks.
that boost of protein in the am keeps me going.
and i love it.

but it's become the go-to morning jam over here.
and i just thought i would infect your brain with it a bit so we could all share in the all day non-stop humming of this little number....!!:)

{Monday}

the big girls bounced out of bed this morning. (had to wake up aubrey...poor thing...she's got the sniffles)
i think it was the thought of 50 degree temps and wearing capris that did the trick.

dave made another egg casserole for the week and cut a big platter of veggies for lunches. this post really inspired me. i agree with all of it...not that i do all of it mind you.  but that early morning workout thing...100%!!! if i don't do it early chances are it won't get done! i saw this workout in a magazine awhile back and checked out the dvd's from our library and i love it! very fast paced...and motivational. you hardly notice the 57 minutes!!:)

signed the girls out from school early for dentist appointments today.
the girls have an awesome dentist so that makes it not so bad.
aubrey has gone along for the ride for a few years now but today was the first time she actually hopped up in the chair on her own for a cleaning!! i was so impressed! and a bit surprised actually! she kept smiling and bouncing her new shoes on the seat and giving me the thumbs up sign! it was precious. of course she has three of us watching and ooohing and ahhhing over her...."ahhhh...isn't she soooo sweet?!"

we came home to daddy installing our new microwave,

um...why does everything in the house seem to break at the same time?!:)

dinner in the oven and the windows open.

i guess spring really is in the air?

i can't exactly remember when it happened...but somewhere in the calm of Christmas evening...everyone was playing and i was cleaning up the kitchen...and this song came on. i think i posted it last year, but it's one of my favorites. it gets me every single time i hear it.

{Tuesday}

after reading this post i started to realize it's been awhile since aubrey and i had one of those one armed giggly photo shoots. taking pictures of yourself while holding the camera is really harder then it looks.:)
these are by no means flattering...but it was fun and sweet and hopefully when she looks back at them she will see the love.

we had a rather slow moving morning today.
many distractions kept us from the task of getting ready for our day.
crib sheets that needed to be washed. (most dreaded baby job ever btw!)
shirts that were too small.
socks that were to bunchy and looking for that "one" picture on the blog that we just had to see.
...sigh...

but we made it out the door and were all smiling by drop off.
i love it when one of the big girls has it all together, is being a blessing and showing patience.
today it was riley's turn.
thank you sweet love.

took riley for lunch today and we shared one of mcd's new holiday mcflurries.
so-so if you ask me, but they enjoyed it.
during our car chat riley informed me:
she can now leap from one big tire to the next without falling. (on the playground)
she loves long division.
she prayed and asked God for a good day and it worked.
and she really wants stilts and a gumball machine for Christmas.
hmmm???

it is cold and dreary out.
it started sprinkling as we walked into school and i swear it felt like it might snow.
oh please....not yet!
i got two extra big kisses and hugs as riley said goodbye at lunch time.
that was certainly worth that freezy walk into school.

this is the song i awoke to when my alarm went off this morning.
i just love it.
i have listened to it many, many times today.
it makes me cry.
and after that...no matter what happened with this day i knew in my heart it was going to be a good one.
play it loud my friends.
