{New and Good... A Picture Wall}

i love the way our picture wall was before.

but when we painted the walls, i knew it was time for soemthing new.

i wanted it to be a bit more random and colorful.
then i saw this photo

it was on someone's pinterest page...but i can't remember who??:)

i loved everything about it...the colors...the randomness...exactly what we were looking for.

so i copied it.:)

kind of.

i bought almost all of the frames at walmart and target.

i went for the most inexpensive ones i could find because i knew i would be painting them.

once i had bought what felt like a gazillion frames, i started working on the arrangement.

i just laid it on the floor during nap time and played with it till i had it just right.

it was actually fun...kind of like building a puzzle.

i took a quick picture then cleaned it up.

i printed the picture and used that to plan what colors and photos would go where.

choosing the paint was tricky.

i spent many an hour in front of that huge wall of acrylic paints at hobby lobby and michael's.

i love a good project mess.

once all the photos were in the right frames, we laid everything out on the floor again.

hanging everything was tricky. (especially since it was 9 o clock pm  the day before janey's party...sorry baby!)

the fact that things were a bit more random and unmeasured was good though.

dave started with the bottom line since we knew we wanted that to be level and then we just built up.

........ta-da.......

i think it looks amazing in the room and adds just the right pop of color.

i think it will be pretty easy to add to as well.

i would like to go a bit more up...and out.

i was thinking about a pretty bunting over the top...what do you think?? too much??

maybe underneath? maybe on the fireplace instead????

{Lunch and a Laugh}

ok, everyone knows how much i love panera for breakfast.
in fact if i'm not there at least twice a week they call me at home to see if i'm ok.:)

but i have been known to visit them for lunch on occasion.
my absolute favorite salad there is the Asian sesame chicken salad.
when dave is out of town or i am having a bad day it is always the first thing i think of for a little pick-me-up.

well...guess what...dave found the recipe.
it was actually right there on their site.
he made me one at home and it was amazing and even better then the original....
cause my honey made it.

so go make one...
if you love panera...
or if you're having a bad day and need a pick me up...
or if you just love salads...
you won't be disappointed.

now for the laugh...
i hope this doesn't offend anyone,
but i saw this post last week and it made me laugh so hard i was crying!
truth be told i had never heard of the "cinnamon challenge" and if i had maybe i would have had a clue what to expect, and from what i'm told...you can see this kind of thing all over YouTube. but i'm in the dark about most all of that kind of thing....
so.....here goes....click here and be prepared to laugh till you cry...i hope!:)

{Weekend Glimpses}

hi friends.

good weekend?

ours was a little on the lazy side.

which believe me...with the week we have coming up...it's a good thing.

i must say the girls are managing their screen time beautifully.

books and people are still more important...whew!:)

someone else likes my spring flowers too.

she carries them around for us all to "have a sniff".

my laundry basket hardly ever holds laundry these days

this weekend it was a boat, a rocket ship, and a train car.

these two were in full time lovin' mode.

i love it.

homemade pasta cut into circles for mini ramekin lasagnas

can you imagine sitting at the computer in that position???:)

guess who's sharing rooms now??

totally on a whim.

we went for it!

it was this photo that inspired the move i think:)

we will see what happens when riley gets her room redone in a few months.

they now have a sleeping room and a study/reading room.

and endless possibilities for sisterly bonding...and staying up way too late!:)
