{15 Years}

yep.
15 years!
amazing how time just keeps on keeping on.

a touch of colds in the house and a busy night of dance kept our celebration low key.
but low key is pretty good in my book.

dave made one of my favorite dinners...chicken tacos (a little lobster thrown into his) with homemade salsa and guacamole. super yummo!!

beautiful flowers.
a lunch date on friday and
happy girls to celebrate with us.

how cheesy is that huh?:
it just hit me when i opened this post so i went with it.

dave took the day off today which was so wonderful.
he was there to make pancakes for the girls...a super rare treat on a school day and help with the morning hoopla. a major plus for me.

we took aubrey to panera for a bagel (yes she ate two breakfasts) then went to story time.
she loved having daddy there to help her pick out books.

we came home for a bit then back out to lunch.
wow...two meals out in one day...i feel so special!:)

he wanted to take me someplace a bit fancier but i was really craving a burger.

this was his not mine.

just cheese and ketchup for me...i'm so way boring. 

 i sat in the back with this sweetie on the way home as she sang laurie berkner to me.

and this was dinner.

yummmmm-o!

 

then the mayhem of figuring out the tripod and the timer began.

{Thirteen Years}

happy anniversary to us!!
13 years....wow!
seems like only yesterday, really!

we celebrated our anniversary by doing the things we typically do on a monday.
drop the big girls off at school
panera
grocery shop
lunch at our favorite mexican place
but we would look at the clock throughout the day and say "what were we doing now?"
it was sweet and simple and perfect.
(well maybe not perfect i would have loved to be in a tropical place with the sun on our shoulders and sand under our feet...but it was pretty close):)

dave surprised me with beautiful flowers.

and made a wonderful dinner

(of course he tweaked it a bit so let me know if you want the updates)

janey has tumbling on mondays so we were eating a bit later then normal.
after their showers the girls were playing hide and seek upstairs with aubrey.
our soup was ready but their grilled cheese was not. we looked at each other and decided to sit down and eat, just the two of us. it was the closest we were going to get to a babysitter i guess!

we took a family pic before bed.
first time we had used the tripod and timer so it took a bit.

our three silly, squirmy monkeys didn't help either.

throw in the learning curve for the cameras live view and self-timer and we just gave up

yes dave turned his eyelids inside out...totally gross!

{Twelve Years}

Dave and I celebrated our anniversary on Sunday.
Twelve Years!
We both kind of look at each other like....what?!?!?
Twelve years...really???!!!
Where did the time go?

During the hustle and bustle of getting ready for church in the morning
Dave took my wedding ring off the kitchen shelf
took my hands in his and said his vows again
word for word
while he placed the ring on my finger
the boy's still got it!!!!:)
The girls, who were sitting there having breakfast, were like eeeewwwwww...
kind of funny!!

Dave made a truly scrumptious dinner.

And brought me some beautiful flowers.

We wanted to take a photo of us on the big day
Of course we waited till right before bed-time
We were too lazy to get the tripod out so we let the girls take turns with the camera
They thought that was totally cool!

I think we have made pretty good use of our twelve years together...

We got married at the Marriott Key Largo Bay Resort

It was a beautiful location and a picture perfect day.

I took photos of the photos in our wedding album.

That would explain the weird flashy thing in the corner and the little gold edges!:)

 I love this one because the sun started shining so brightly as soon as we said "I Do"

we went  the whole way across the bridge, down the sidewalk and 

then into the glass elevator

then we gave each other a huge hug and kiss....we had no idea we were being filmed!

The girls were so cute, they threw us a party after Aubrey was in bed.

We went on a scavenger hunt and our prize was tickets for a spa.

We got to sit on the sofa together and they rubbed our feet and hands!

Where do they come up with this stuff??:)

We loved it!

We asked them if they could just put themselves to bed so we could stay right there 

on the sofa together in our post spa state

they wouldn't go for it though!:)
